A little something a lot of people don’t really know about me is my fascination with North Korea. Maybe those of you reading this are somewhat educated on North Korea, but time after time it is to my surprise how many people aren’t. I have a thing for watching documentaries on the country, and have seen a lot of them. But today I discovered a very awesome website from a post on Digg, immediately catching my attention with the words North Korea in the post title, I couldn’t contain myself but to see what my fellow digg users were digging up. VBS.tv, was the website that produced the video, which I of course later found do lots of little documentaries. So I watched, and all I really can say is watch it and that it’s by far my favorite video on North Korea made yet. It shows a few things I’ve never seen before, and is filmed in a way that might seem that of a bloggers point of view, very raw, yet still produced in a professional manner. You can tell that most of the time, they are secretly filming when they are not supposed to, on digital cameras. This Documentary by far (in my own opinion), is the best introduction yet to those who are not familiar with the homogeneous North Korea or their leader, Kim Jong-il.

For some reason the video, Vice Guide to North Korea is in 3 parts.
All 3 parts are accessible after the page break.

So today I shaved, just now that is. If anyone knows me well enough they know that I am one that enjoys wet shaving, or classic shaving. I use a wonderful 34c Merkur safety razor from Germany, Proraso eucalyptus shaving cream from Italy, and a Rooney shaving brush from the UK– sounds fancy and all right?.. well the blades I am traditionally used to using are Derby Extra blades, they are cheap and work wonderfully, you can get 100 pack for 15 dollars on Amazon. Well for the past few weeks I haven’t had any of these Derby blades to use, and I never bought a 100 pack (until tonight of course). So I’ve been using these Merkur blades, by the same company that makes my razor and they absolutely suck. They are too sharp and leave your skin feeling bare as if they are taking off some skin along with them. Anyway, they’ve been working for the past few shaves I’ve had, but tonight I put a new one on my razor and it absolutely killed my face. I look fine tonight, but tomorrow I’m sure I’ll be sporting a nasty burn. So that’s my story. Interested in wet shaving? Let me know in the comments or via twitter or something and I’ll get around to making a post about wet shaving. Woo!

Woo! Okay so a few days ago I noticed my battery wasn’t charging, lame right? so I didn’t think too much of it, and thought I’d just figure it out later. After a couple of days I moved the Macbook to the dining room table and noticed that it was lopsided, I figured I was missing a foot (you know the little rubber feet on the underside), it wasn’t that, I noticed the huge lump on the battery. Turns out it was indeed swollen, or exploded, either way– today I called Applecare on the phone, they said to take it to the Apple Store. So I made an appointment, took it in, and even though it was passed its warranty, the battery shouldn’t have been swollen at its age, so they exchanged it out for me, free of charge. Very awesome.

So far so good, still working on a good amount of under the hood stuff on Stevo.org, but you might see that a lot of things look a little cleaner as well, fonts correct sizes, etc. Take a browse around and see what’s up, I really like how the comments is working out, I also added an option to create a gravatar before you comment, I thought that was a pretty cool idea myself, so it’s there now. Figure the site should be running 100% live pretty soon. At least you can see view the website regardless. Anyway, I’ve had a very long day, tomorrow is Sunday and the rain has finally stopped, I’m ready to get some shut eye. That’s about it, I love you all. Discuss.

So this is the new layout, and I am indeed still working on it as you might see. After a server change, things load much faster, and work more efficiently. I don’t know what else to tell you other than stay tuned!

Edit: Cheers to James for getting the Love Actually reference!

My good friend James [Sco] left for england today for school. I’m not sure when the next time I’ll see him is, but what an awesome guy, if you haven’t checkout of his blog already, please do [Sco].  Aside from that, he also designed me an awesome card today, I took a photo of a part of it because it looks really cool.

Speaking of which, James– when you arrive, we gotta talk about how to get posting photos more efficiently on here.

Anyway, till we meet again my friend.

A sammich is a type of sandwich. However, it is not just any kind of sandwich. Any old schmuck can throw lunchmeat between two slices of bread and have a sandwich.

But no. A sammich is not just a sandwich, it is not just a meal. Sammich is a term reserved for only the holiest and mightiest of all sandwiches. A sammich is a true work of culinary art; a feast on a bun, if you will. A sammich is not made of the best ingredients; it is made of the *right* ingredients. It needs the right meats, and the right cheese(s), the right sauce, the right veggies, and the right kind of bread.

Taking footlong sub bread and throwing every kind of meat and cheese and everything else under the sun or in your kitchen pantry on it does not a sammich make. It is akin to an incohesive mishmosh of colors on an artist’s easel.

Sandwiches make a good snack, but sammiches are forever.
