Easter is today, it has special meaning to me, as this day has special meaning behind it. For those that are of my faith, or similar faith, know that today is the day we celebrate when Jesus Christ rose, that he lives, and lives today. Really a special day and an absolute cornerstone to my faith. I so thankful for the blessings in my life, for my talents, for the area I live in, and for the friends I have, such as you
Oh well, just thought I would say hello to the world. I am on break officially starting today, spring break that is, spring break away from school. Will I be doing anything during the break? going anywhere? traveling? no, not really, unfortunately that is very very much out of my budget. Instead I will be writing papers for my history class, which shouldn’t be too bad. I might go abouts and take some photos, maybe I’ll drive to one of my favorite mexican food shops, or maybe i’ll even bake cookies. Other than this, it should be an ok break. I think a session of longboarding would be fun too– yes, mexican food and longboarding, it sounds too comfortable. Oh, and how could I forget, i’ll enjoy an episode of Top Gear afterwards as well. Anyone reading this ever watch Top Gear? it’s a fantastic show, probably my favorite.
So has anyone been listening to some music that I should take a listen to? if so, please post in the comments of the page, I would be delighted to hear about it. Actually today I was listening to The Echoes, superb band if I do say so myself, email me if you want to give them a listen, otherwise, if you already know them, go listen to them and then tell all your friends about them.
Anyway, those are my thoughts for the evening, and last but not least– a long time stevo.org viewer and a very close friend of mine, Taylor Rice, is getting married this weekend, in the Las Vegas Temple, so congratulations on him and his Wife, Amy!
I have been busy with school, busy with work, by time I get home, I often forget to go on and blog. I have been playing the Japanese version of Super Smash Brothers: Brawl like a maniac with Jeff and Zac recently, that’s been quite fun. The game comes out next week and should get some great reviews from everyone as it already has. Infact, let me restate that, I think it will probably be huge, if you were ever a fan of the Nintendo 64 version of Smash Brothers, or even the Gamecube, I think you are in for a real treat. You will have more characters to choose from that make the screen end up looking like The King of Fighters, special moves added, epic music that has been composed so fantasticly, and so much more that just makes the gameplay so darn good. I really think Nintendo has a winner here.
Besides video games, I do have a wonderful girlfriend that I took out to see the movie “Penelope” which was really quite enjoyable. Just a fun and different movie, good acting, great music, great sets, and good overall message the movie gives. I feel the movie has an “organic” feel to it, it takes place in a fictional city that seems like a cross of London and New York City. Penelope has been cursed with a face of a pig from ancestors before her and do to this tragedy, she lives a sheltered life by her family in fear that the world may not accept her for who she is. Growing up and just past her teenage years, her family is out to help find her another blue-blooded male to marry her, which would then break the ugly curse she has been born with. Once again I found the movie very enjoyable and although I do recommend giving the movie a watch, it’s nothing I would pay $11 to go see (movie prices are outrageous right now), but if I was just looking to catch a flick, I wouldn’t mind paying with a Costco movie discount ticket or even just wait till it hits the dollar theater. Then again if you’re a lady and you’re just dying to see James Mcavoy again after seeing Atonement or Becoming Jane, well then it just might be worth that $11 I mentioned
Anyway, like I said I have been pushing hard with school recently, but things are starting to mellow out, we’ll see how things go. I’ll get around to posting some more soon and hopefully get a new photo gallery going here as well. Oh and on a side note, feel free to leave your prayers with my mom at the moment, not sick or anything, she could just use all the help she can get right now. Thanks everyone!
